Clubs & Activities
How can I book a place for my child?
All extra-curricular clubs can be booked via the Parent Arbor app within the Clubs section. Click here for instructions on how to access the Clubs section within Arbor.
Once a place has been booked, your child should arrive at the start of the activity and report to the member of staff supervising the session. Remember they will need PE kit to attend the PE extra-curricular activities.

PE Newsletter – Spring Term
It has been another action-packed term of sport at HGS. Our after-school sports clubs continue to be as popular as ever, and we have hosted or travelled to an impressive 122 sports fixtures this term, bringing the total number of fixtures this year to 288.
Highlights include Netball Academy 4th Team winning the Silcoates School Netball Tournament, a brilliant achievement. The team have shown incredible commitment and improvement week on week.
The U14 Boys Rugby team secured victory in the Yorkshire Schools Cup and won the Woodhouse Grove 7’s Plate.
Our Senior Table Tennis team finished third at the U19 English Schools North East Finals.
Well done to all students involved.

Voluntary Contribution – Your Support Matters
We would like to thank all parents who have already made the £30 voluntary contribution this year. However, the total amount raised so far is significantly lower than in previous years. This funding is vital in ensuring we can continue to provide a broad range of sporting opportunities for all students.
These contributions help cover essential costs such as:
- Transport to fixtures and tournaments
- Referees and officials for competitive matches
- Tournament entry fees
- New equipment and kit
- External specialist coaching, which complements the activities and teams run by HGS staff
If you have not yet contributed, or if you would like to support the PE department further, please make your payment via Arbor Shop which can be accessed via the Arbor Parent App.
Your generosity is greatly appreciated and helps us continue to provide exceptional sporting opportunities for all HGS students.
