Apprentice Laboratory Technician

To start beginning of July 2026, so would fit with Year 13 having finished exams.

The qualification is Level 3 so not a degree apprenticeship but would suit someone who wants an apprenticeship specifically in research.

Do you have an aptitude for science and in particular working in a laboratory environment? Do you want to begin your career as a research/teaching technician in one of the top Universities in the country? 

We are looking for an apprentice, eager to start their career as a Laboratory Research Technician. As an apprentice you will provide support to the School of Chemical and Process Engineering and you will support the suite of materials and nuclear labs in the Faculty of Engineering Physical Sciences apprenticeship scheme. As part of our apprenticeship technical training scheme, you will be placed on an appropriate Laboratory technician apprenticeship course at level 3, offered by Leeds City College, this will be day release one day per week. You will be mentored by one of our senior technicians in our laboratories, where you will be given specific training in this area.
On completion of your training, you will have an ideal skill set to go on to a successful career as a research/teaching technician, having learnt several disciplines associated with working in a lab environment. There may also be an opportunity to progress into a permanent role at the University on successful completion of your apprenticeship.

Apprentice Legal Position - Commercial Valuation

Allsop’s Apprenticeship scheme will provide the opportunity to gain a thorough understanding of the Commercial Valuation department and wider Allsop business. You will receive on the job training directly from qualified surveyors, working in conjunction with the departmental Partner, whilst working towards achieving a RICS accredited BSc (Hons) in Real Estate. You will receive full sponsorship of correspondence course fees at The University College of Estate Management (UCEM).

Legal Cheek in partnership with The University of Law

Flagship dual-date virtual event for Year 12 and 13 students (sixth formers) considering the solicitor apprenticeship route, in partnership with 24 leading law firms and The University of Law.

Register to attend. Just one registration is needed for both events.

It kicks off on Thursday 27 November 2025 (4:30pm to 6pm) with a solicitor apprenticeship application masterclass delivered by 12 leading law firms’ early careers teams covering the following topics: ‘Researching firms and building commercial awareness’; ‘Making a winning application’; and ‘Looking ahead to assessment centres’. There is then a virtual law fair with the firms.

Part Two is on Tuesday 13 January 2026 (4:30pm to 6pm), where current solicitor apprentices at 12 leading law firms will share what to expect on a solicitor apprenticeship, in a series of short workshops covering the following topics: ‘Perception v reality’, ‘City living and social life’ and ‘Looking ahead to qualification’. There is then a virtual law fair with the firms.
