Year 9 options
In Year 9, students need to choose which subjects they would like to study in Years 10 and 11. All the information below has been produced to help guide students through the process and to help them select the subjects which are right for them. It is important that parents/carers are involved in discussing options with their child. Students can speak to their class teachers directly if they are are unsure which subjects to choose, or if a new subject, such as Business Studies and Sociology, to the teachers of that subject area.
HGS has an outstanding record in enabling students to make progress significantly beyond the national average. Students will be supported throughout the two years to achieve the best results you can, but also to develop the knowledge and skills which will support your progress onto the next stage beyond GCSE.
